Alright, I'm going to make this a quick one as this has probably been one of my least favourite skincare empties ever. Either I'm becoming very critical about my skincare items or maybe the products just don't work. Of all the items I've used up, I would only repurchase three of them. The rest were nothing special.
- L'oreal Eye & Lip Makeup Remover (For waterproof make-up) - DISCONTINUED - Not too long ago, my niece texted me, saying they had discontinued the L'oreal Eye and Lip Makeup Remover and I couldn't believe it. My HOLY GRAIL makeup remover was no longer available. I did some research and funny enough, I found out that the "Lancôme Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover" has the same exact ingredients as the drugstore version. Both contain the same main ingredients (Aqua/Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isohexadecane and Sodium Chloride), which is no surprise as Lancome is part of the L'oreal brand. Both are included in my empties and although I loved both makeup removers equally, I couldn't make myself purchase the Lancôme, because of the price point. I guess now that it's discontinued I either have to purchase the high-end version or find me a substitute that works just as well, without leaving an oily residue on my skin. - Verdict: Hot.
- Bioderma Sensibio H20 - An oldie, but a goldie. I'm sure you all know this wonder of a micellar water. Honest to say, though, there are so many micellar waters out there, that work just as well at removing dirt and makeup. The Bioderma Micellar Water leaves no oily residue, so that's why I prefer using this. I don't use micellar water to remove all my makeup, because I use pretty stubborn waterproof mascara. The micellar water, for me, is more like a toner. I use it to either remove most of my makeup before going in with a cleanser, or after cleansing my face to remove any leftover dirt. (Read about my morning skincare routine - there's one example of how I use micellar waters) - Verdict: Hot.
- Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado - If you know me personally or have ever seen me without makeup, you know that I don't ever struggle with dark circles or puffy eyes. I "only" struggle with dry skin under my eyes and it's especially dry during the winter. This eye cream works wonders for that! I love that the cream is super hydrating without being greasy nor too thick - it doesn't sit on top of the skin, but is absorbed beautifully. Would definitely repurchase. - Verdict: Hot.
